Information for viewers
What is processed when a streamer uses StreamTik in their TikTok LIVE.
What this page is about
StreamTik is a tool for live streamers. The streamer whose stream you are watching uses it to respond visibly to gifts, likes and comments in their TikTok LIVE - with overlays, games and leaderboards. This page briefly explains which details about you are processed by us in that context.
Which details about you are processed
From the events of a stream we take a limited selection: your publicly visible TikTok username, your display name, the address of your profile picture, and the details of the event itself, that is the type, number and coin value of a gift, the number of likes, or the text of a comment. No further details about you reach us this way: no legal name, no postal address, no email address, no payment data. The text of a comment is shortened to 1000 characters and used to match the triggers the streamer has set.
What these details are used for
They control what happens in the stream: an overlay, a sound, an action in a game. For leaderboards we keep a score per channel containing the username, the display name, the profile picture address and the points, plus a ledger so that a disputed credit remains traceable. We do not keep a complete raw log of all events.
Who is responsible for what
For the processing within our own services we are the controller: we decide which fields are taken over, where they are held and how long they stay. What is displayed in a stream is decided by the streamer; for that the streamer is the controller, and we have no access to their broadcast. No contract between you and us arises from this.
The legal basis
We base this processing on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is operating our tool for creators: responding visibly to the actions taken publicly in the stream and keeping scores and leaderboards for that purpose. Only details that you yourself showed publicly in the stream are processed; the same basis applies where an action was paid for.
No consent, no tracking
We do not obtain consent for this processing, because we base it on the legitimate interest. We use no advertising or analytics tools in this context, and we do not build a profile about you. You may object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
How long we keep this
The event fields are processed while the event passes through the processing. A score in our database has no separate retention period; it remains until it is deleted, either individually or together with the streamer's account. Ledger entries older than 7 days are deleted; anything moved to our cold archive is held there for up to 3 months.
Your rights and who to contact
You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. You do not need an account with us for this: write to [email protected] and tell us the TikTok username concerned and the channel you were watching; without those two details we cannot find your data. If your question is about what is shown in a stream, the streamer is the right contact; if it is about the processing within our services, we are. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
